Event Summary

The full video of our launch event in Victoria on March 27, 2018:

We’re inviting you to take part in building a better future for our youth. We believe you’ll want to know what kind of good change-making is going on in your community.

It takes a village to raise a child, right? Well, we’ve created space for the village to gather. March 27, 2018, Rethink Thinking hosted the “It’s Time To Rethink School” event. A special evening for people — like you — who lie awake nights thinking about what’s going to happen if we don’t get it together for the kids.

Join us for a conversation of expanding your mind and exciting announcements. As a parent, educator, or community supporter, you are taking a peek into what the education of the future has in store for our children.

WHAT YOU’LL HEAR
A panel of experts shared their latest insights into education, mental health, and parenting. Jeff Hopkins from the Pacific School of Innovation and Inquiry is one of the panelists you won’t want to miss, especially if you’re a parent. He’ll be joined by:

>> Jillian Roberts | www.familysparks.com
>> Lisa Tate | www.FamilySmart.ca
>> Allison Rees | www.lifeseminars.com

And a special announcement announcing the launch of a crowdfunding campaign to open Arc Academy of Inquiry, a new, inquiry based middle school, which will shift the landscape of our educational community in Victoria.

WHY WE WOULD DO THIS
The research is mounting. We’re seeing a spike in anxiety, depression and isolation, and we’ve got a huge number of kids leaving high school — university, even — without the resilience to handle the constant change and uncertainty of a fast-moving world. And we’ve got some ideas for what to do about it.

WHO WE ARE
Rethink Thinking was launched in 2016 by a passionate group of educators, parents and social entrepreneurs who share a vision of supporting young people to develop the skills needed for today’s era of rapid change and interconnection. Our philosophy and approach is designed to empower youth and support creativity, innovation and holistic well-being.
