Indigenous Perspectives Society

Indigenous Perspectives Society (IPS) is a charitable and not-for-profit social enterprise that offers training programs and services that help foster a deeper understanding of Indigenous perspectives, cultural differences, and the need for self-determination. By creating excellence through training and leadership, we help strengthen lives and build successful relationships in our communities.

The Indigenous Perspectives Society is accredited by CARF International for its Aboriginal Social Work and Reconciliation from an Indigenous Perspective training programs. This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the Society’s conformance to the CARF standards. We are a proud member of the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business, the WestShore Chamber of Commerce, and the Child Welfare League of Canada.

EVENT SUMMARY

For this sharing session, Indigenous Perspectives Society was pleased to bring together speakers, performance artists, and screen a short film to explore key efforts in response to the Calls to Action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. We were fortunate to host “Perspectives To Action” on the traditional territories of the Lekwungen peoples.

THE 2020 VISION PROJECT
20 local non-profits. 20 broadcasts. 20 months. 1 gift.

2020 Vision is a project designed to amplify & forward the deep work being done by the non-profit & charities right here in our hometown of Victoria.

We’re gifting 20 live broadcast events, over 20 months, to 20 local community-based organizations in order to help them reach more people, scale their message, capture some beautiful video, host an event, and build an expanded awareness of the cause they champion! 2020 Vision is our way of saying THANK YOU for all that you’re doing to make the world a more beautiful, just, compassionate, balanced and sustainable world.

Sunset Labs is an intimate waterfront multi-purpose venue located downtown Victoria, Canada. This beautiful, high-tech venue hosts live broadcasts, meetings & workshops, dance nights, film screenings, live rock shows, fashion events, book fairs and everything else the community comes up with.
