Event Summary

The Understanding the Impacts of Trauma and Caring for Ourselves event is an opportunity to improve your understanding of trauma, approaches to working with people we care about, while supporting our own efficacy and wellness. This event is for frontline workers, social workers, professionals, employers, students and generally interested individuals looking to increase their knowledge on trauma and trauma-informed practice.

This event will explore the following topics and philosophies:

> What is trauma & trauma-informed practice
> The Vagus nerve and trauma responses in the brain
> The 3 stages of trauma care and treatment
> The impacts of trauma and abuse
> Self-care and nervous system regulation for practitioners in highly activating situations
> Learning skills for grounding trauma responses

2020 Vision is a project designed to amplify & forward the deep work being done by the non-profit & charities right here in our hometown of Victoria.

We’re gifting 20 live broadcast events, over 20 months, to 20 local community-based organizations in order to help them reach more people, scale their message, capture some beautiful video, host an event, and build an expanded awareness of the cause they champion! 2020 Vision is our way of saying THANK YOU for all that you’re doing to make the world a more beautiful, just, compassionate, balanced and sustainable world.

Sunset Labs is an intimate waterfront multi-purpose venue located downtown Victoria, Canada.
