PAST EVENT
Pearson College UWC is a two-year pre-university school (Grade 12 and Gap Year) for up to 200 students representing about 90 countries, who live, study and grow together in the beautiful Pacific Northwest rainforest on the southwest tip of Vancouver Island in the Province of British Columbia. We are proud to acknowledge that we live and learn on the unceded territory of the Scia’new (Beecher Bay) First Nation.
As the second UWC (United World College), founded in 1974, we are one of 18 UWC schools around the world. Together, we are aligned with the UWC Mission: “To make education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future.” At Pearson, our IB-based and experiential education curriculum is transformational.
Hope you enjoyed the stream, take a look at what we have from the event!
WATCH THE REPLAY
For nearly 40 years, Pearson College UWC students have shared the music, dance and stories of their home countries at One World. It is very powerful to bear witness to the students’ stories and experiences as they explore and present them to the world and with the audience.
Each year, the entire student body comes together to share in this challenging – yet ultimately rewarding – creative labour of love. One World is one more way that Pearson College students learn to live and work together, celebrate diversity, collaboration, creativity and courage.
Why we think you should join us in March 2020 for One World.
For everyone who has not seen and experienced One World yet, this incredible performance provides a rich, potent understanding of cultures that most of us would have never experienced before.
Whether you are a long-time One World fan or have experienced it only once before, you have seen the show and know what our students are capable of! Re-live the magic of One World, be swept away by new performances each year that are as unique as the students themselves, and look forward to perennial favourites such as the Gumboot Dance, Ukrainian Dance and the One Hundred Voices Choir.

The 772 seat McPherson Playhouse is situated in the heart of downtown Victoria and along with the Royal Theatre effectively forms the region’s performing arts centre.
Opened in 1914 as part of the Pantages chain of theatres, the McPherson has been upgraded to modern standards while retaining its original historic characteristics. It is one of the finest examples of theatres from that period still standing in Canada.
Annually, the McPherson hosts Theatre for Young People, Musical Theatre, Rock Shows, Comedy, Ballet and more.
